EcoDistrict Walk: Urban Conservation for the Bird Curious

February 23, 2020 @ 3:30 pm PST

image

This neighborhood walk begins a monthly Public Life walking series hosted by the Capitol Hill Eco District.

Have you ever wondered what that little brown bird over there is? Or who is singing so loudly outside your window at 4:00 a.m.? Or why a raven is like a writing desk?

Well, you might just be bird curious.

Join others in the bird-curious community on an urban conservation-themed walk through Capitol Hill. We’ll stroll from Volunteer Park to Seattle University with Seattle Audubon Society‘s Urban Conservation Manager, Joshua Morris. Along the way, Josh will lead conversations about the good and bad of city life from a bird’s perspective. He’ll also share about the work Seattle’s Urban Bird Treaty City partnership is doing to make Capitol Hill a safer place for birds and people. And of course, we’ll be keeping an eye out for any feathered thing.

You don’t need binoculars for this walk, but they will enhance your experience. If you’ve already got a pair, we encourage you to bring them along. If you don’t but you wish you did, no problem! Just send us a DM, and we’ll bring you a loaner pair for the walk.
