Daffodils
Hi Friend of Volunteer Park —

Volunteer Park Trust was founded as a volunteer-based organization in 2013 to preserve and enhance our city and national landmark for today and for generations to come. At the beginning of 2022 you helped us plant 25,000 daffodils along the park’s western edge in memory of one of our founders, Doug Bayley. Each spring, those blossoms will remind all of us of his visionary spirit, leadership, and passion for Volunteer Park.

Over the past decade, we have worked with our neighbors, donors, the larger community, Seattle Parks & Recreation, and Seattle Parks Foundation to complete several projects that enhance our park. This year we completed our largest capital project to date, the new Amphitheater. Over 16,000 people joined us to celebrate throughout the summer for the Grand Opening and the Summer Series at the Amphitheater. We look forward to seeing you Thursday evenings next summer as we continue this series. The new structure is also being used by the community for cultural celebrations, community theater, and more. We can’t wait to see what 2023 will bring.

This year we also brought back our well-loved programs, including 2nd Saturday Work Parties, Spring & Fall Restoration Days, Summer Picnic in the Park, and the Halloween Pet Parade. We listened to your thoughtful responses to our donor survey and are working with SPR to install new trash and recycling cans across the park and a new water fountain near the museum.

We are looking to the future to make plans for what we can accomplish in the next ten years. We can’t do this work alone. Please consider making a gift today. Your donation will help with park beautification and will support our programs and events.

Please donate in any amount to keep Volunteer Park the amazing urban green space we all enjoy. Together, we are making a difference in the future of our park!

Yours sincerely,
Jennifer Ott
